Health is a fundamental issue in life. Unfortunately, majority of people more so in developing countries live in jeopardy of this, with their lives being at risk due to ill health. Many factors affect the health of persons, the greatest cause being poverty and ignorance. Limited and/or absence of medical facilities and personnel have been one of the leading causes of death in many countries.

Uganda's infant mortality rate and life expectancy age are among the worst in the world. More than 50 percent of Ugandans have no access to clean water, making them vulnerable to cholera and diarrhea. Malaria and respiratory illnesses are widespread and are frequent causes of death. Economic liberalization has created a healthcare system that places the poor at a stark disadvantage. Other major healthcare issues are basic hygiene; nutrition; women's and children's health; and sexual/reproductive health (especially for young people and women).

Besides the mobile medical clinics we often carry out in local communities during our missions, our vision is to establish hospitals in the poorest regions to counter these problems.

EDUCATION

Education

Crown International Academy

With a vision to bring distinctive Christian education to helpless, vulnerable and orphaned children, Crown International Academy’s vision is to groom children and students spiritually, morally and socially with high academic values to impact their society.

From contributing tuition and scholastic requirements to these children, our goal this year is to build a school where they can attain free education. We have already acquired land on the outskirts of Kampala City to start this project.

Help us build on the land. It costs US Dollars 2,500 to build a classroom. When you donate towards a Classroom, your name is inscribed on it as a memorial. You can change these lives and leave a legacy by volunteering your skills and professional services and/or making a donation today.

Tailoring & Craft Center

With Women are the backbone of Africa’s economy. In all calamities, they are the most affected. Commission International is committed to women causes, to help them have a better living thus the purpose of our women projects.

From our craft center, T/Shirts, Caps, Bags and Beaded jewelry, among other items are made by formally impoverished, widowed and single women. This project is geared towards empowering them be more self sustainable by giving them a source of income. This in the long run is a long term solution to poverty related social issues. Part of the proceeds sponsors a child.

To further empower and reach more women, we are setting up a tailoring project. Qualified women are trained to use a sewing machine for the first month and thereafter, a small business started with them. The products these women make can easily be utilized and consumed by their communities.

We have also established a partnership with some schools, who can purchase the school uniforms and other products to be tailored by these women.

By sponsoring a tailoring machine which each costs $200, you will help provide training to countless women and give them a long term source of income. These machines are rented or loaned to women to start a life.

Computer Center

With a focus on the youth, our computer center aims at training and equipping the youth with computer skills to help them become self reliant. Computer knowledge is essential in our world today. Basic computing skills like word processing and statistical calculations have become norms in the criteria of job offers. Internet has also revolutionized communication. Therefore, It’s necessary that the youth are equipped with these skills to enable them find employment and/or initiate self help projects.

Development

Youth Center

During our communal and schools outreach, the youth are often subject of abuse. In many societies, we have often found the highest percentage involved in crime and self destructive activities. Many times, due to absence of resources and social services to enable them be equipped to compete favorably with their colleagues.

With the object to equip the youth with tools to face challenges, provide organizational structures to practice healthy and recreational activities and; offer them opportunities for spiritual, mental, physical and moral development, the vision for the youth center was birthed out.

Other objects include;

• To mentor and advise the youth on issues that affects them.
• To train youth and involved them in the implementation of youth programs to enable them influence their peers positively.
• Through vocational training, they are helped to initiate and develop self help and income generating projects.
• To promote Youth Exchange Programs between youths from various regions and cultures for better understanding and knowledge sharing.
• To offer counseling services to the youth to enable them better understand their problems and find necessary and practical solutions.
• To develop hidden talents and potential among the youths.

Sports Center

Sports is an influential part of our cultures. One of the most powerful binding tools for the young and old. It is a necessity in life. Even recommended by doctors for healthy living. The bible uses sports metaphorically to describe the Christian commitment to Christ in many instances. For example, running the race, boxing, training( 1Corinthians 9:24; 2Timothy 4:7; Philippians 3:14)

In our evangelistic ventures, we found it to be one of the most powerful edutaining tools of soul winning. Masses easily come together with the objective is sports. It’s one of the things that bind people with varying principles from different backgrounds in life. Our objective is to build, improve and promote talent using it as a medium to transform lives for Christ. As we nurture the youth through sport, we give them an alternative recreation that is more productive and fulfilling. We have witness countless lives changed through this.

Our sporting activities include; Men & Women’s Football, Marathon Races, Basketball, among others for the outdoor and; in-door games like Chess, Ludo, Scramble. Also the traditional games like omweso, to promote culture.

To raise funds for our causes, we also do inter-organizational/schools sports. You can partner with us by carrying out a similar venture in your organization.

We are in the process a building a home for our sports activities. On a large expanse near the Lake Victoria is our land acquired. Our plan is to build Sports centers in different regions; with a football court, basketball pitch, swimming pool and fitness center. This will also be a quiet get away to recapture one’s live.

Retreat and Camping Center: A World of Possibilities, a constant reminder of life’s beauty and richness in God’s creation; with a missionary and leaders training center at the shores of Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa and the source of the River Nile on 20 Hectares of land, located less than 15 Minutes to Entebbe International Airport, 15 minutes to the Uganda Wildlife Center and about 45 minutes to Kampala City. Institutional Strengthening

Partnership and networking breeds a people who are united in one voice and are effective in policy implementation and service delivery. Through partnership, lots can be accomplished and major goals reached where it was impossible. The institution is strengthened. Networks bring forums together for a common goal.

Non-profit organisations are mostly admired for their passionate commitment to mission and their inventive approaches to addressing urgent social problems. Across the country and around the Africa, non-profits implement programmes that improve the quality of life for tens of millions of people. So much so that, in many instances, NPOs have replaced governments as communities’ principal service providers for a range of human needs. And their success in addressing social issues has increased demand for their services from all quarters, including governments which increasingly turn to them as potential service providers and partners to tackle pressing social challenges.

Through co-partnership with other organizations with similar objectives, we support their causes and help in service implementation; also make donations. Some of the activities that most of these organizations engage in include tree planting to abate desertification, maintaining water sources like wells , bore holes and springs, cleaning the environment to ensure community sanitation, building toilets/latrines, sensitizing masses on critical issues like HIV AIDS, Child sacrifice and the kind. These causes benefit society as a whole and in the end act as channels to preach the gospel to the communities

In today's fast-paced environment, leaders need a broad perspective, vision, and acute awareness of the trends and developments shaping the world. Effective Leadership Training can motivate, influence and increase future overall effectiveness. Unfortunately, little or no attention is given to preparing tomorrow’s leadership. Perspectives have dwindled to personal achievement, ignoring the global. Sadly, conformists and imitators are groomed. Society has been gravely damaged and handicapped by well-meaning leaders who have never learned the principles of leadership.

Active learning opportunities are available for individuals and teams from churches who join us on holiday missions or on special call which provide experience and first hand training working as part of a wider team.

Commission International offers training in character development, identity and discipline consistent with Christian leadership to young people within and outside the city. Our vision is to recruit, train and send out leaders for missionary work. Well balanced and all round leaders equipped with skills to provide responsible effective leadership in various capacities in society and in the Church.
