Film and Radio has been one of the most powerful instruments of proclaiming the gospel to the lost world. Commission International also preaches the gospel and shares the love of Christ through showing different inspirational Christian inspirational movies.
This
is one of the most powerful ways though which Commission International reaches
out to many people with the gospel of love of Jesus Christ. Through the media,
millions of people can be reached at the same time. Both the city and the
village dwellers have access to radio almost all the time. Since different
programs are aired out in different local languages other than the official
foreign language, many people especially the illiterates highly benefit from
the radio services.
The film ministry
outreach team goes to different places like schools, colleges,
Universities, churches and the local communities. Many people are
usually touched and transformed by the stories they watch as they often
relate to their own lives or life circumstances. The movies are usually
exciting, interesting and entertaining yet carrying powerful
evangelistic messages.
Sometimes, some
individuals will not hearken to the word of the preacher and so even
when they are invited to receive salvation they just turn away. However
when most of these people stay and watch the movies, they usually
respond positively because of the message relayed to them in the movie.
Once a week, a movie is shown at the mission center where many people gather to enjoy and have fun. Shortly after the movie, a speaker steps in with a brief word concerning the movie and to encourage the participants to rise and receive salvation. Sometimes the movies are meant to strengthen encourage and reawaken the body of Christ concerning different aspects of life.
The movies are shown using powerful projectors which portray the pictures the best way possible. It is also a form of interaction and a way of reaching out to other people as they make friendships and relationships. The movies are usually free of charge for the purpose of the sharing the gospel and so because no fee is charged, folks turn up in big numbers.
The film ministry also plays a big role as far as publicizing gospel harvest crusades is concerned. Some people are not interested in hearing anything happening at the crusade grounds. However when they hear that a movie will be shown, they prepare to come and watch only the movie and go away. When they show up for the movie, they find it to be inspirational and they end up being touched. Because the stories are usually evangelistic, they end up responding to the message hence giving their lives to Christ though it was not their original intention of coming to the crusade grounds.
These movies are usually shown in the evenings and on the weekends which is the appropriate time to capture especially the young people because movies is one of the languages they love to speak.
At such times, when the youth are not occupied, they end up getting involved in other unbecoming behaviors and going to wrong places where they hook up with the wrong people just because they are free. However, during the movie times, they are well occupied even as they are challenged to live positively.
